Plein Air Painting

Meg Schmidt and Bob Bylaska painting en plein air in Orleans.

Painting on location in the open air, called en plein air, is a challenging yet relaxing exercise for many artists. The artists of the Eastham Painters Guild are fortunate to have Cape Cod as our canvas, so we move our easels outside whenever we can.

This summer, we’re excited to announce that we will sell our plein air paintings at special shows throughout the season. And on some plein air painting days, we’ll sell right off the easel. The paint may still be wet, but it’s your chance to own a work of art that you watched being created!
