As a professional artist living and working on Cape Cod, Donna Knight has built a multi-faceted career as an artist, educator, and businesswoman.
For more than 35 years, Donna and her husband John owned The Glass Eye Studio and Gallery, where they specialized in creating fine art glass for churches, homes and businesses. Their “Nauset Marsh Series” can be seen in the permanent collection of the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History.
Some of their larger works are the architectural focal points of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Harwich, the Cape Cod Covenant Church in Brewster, the United Methodist Church in Eastham, and the Eastham Police Department. Their gallery also exhibited Donna’s paintings, cast paper sculptures, paper pulp paintings, and monoprints.
Donna is an award-winning art educator (30 years) for the Nauset region. She has led professional development workshops in Massachusetts and Connecticut, and trained future art teachers. She has taught classes privately and for the Cape Museum of Art, the Cape Cod Art Association, the Brookfield Craft Center in Connecticut, and Cape Cod continuing education programs.
Now retired, Donna continues to interpret the Cape’s natural beauty through her paintings, and to teach multimedia art workshops.
She has served on the Eastham Cultural Council Annual Hands-On-The-Arts Festival and the Eastham Painters Guild.
Her memberships include the American Craft Council, the Society of Cape Cod Craftsmen, the Cape Cod Artisans Guild, the Eastham Painters Guild, and the Provincetown Art Association and Museum.
She has had further studies with artists Sidney Simon, Michael Zakin, Richard Pepitone, Kevin Dadoly, Elizabeth Pratt, and Elaine and Donna Koretsky.
