June Havens, a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, was raised in New Jersey and educated at the McDowell School of Fashion Design and Illustration in New York City.
June was inspired to use her earlier training in fashion design, with its attention to detail, for the precision required in botanical illustration. Since then, June has studied under several well-known botanical artists from the Denver Botanical Garden’s School of Botanical Art and Illustration.
June is also an accomplished gardener and has been a member of federated garden clubs in New Jersey and Massachusetts for more than 40 years. As a gardener, June has come to appreciate the complexity and beauty of all plants, which she attempts to capture in her colored pencil and watercolor paintings.
As a member of the Eastham Painters Guild for more than 20 years, June has shown her work at the Brewster Museum of Natural History, the Snow Library in Orleans, and several other venues on Cape Cod. Her paintings are in private collections throughout North America and Europe.
June shows her work regularly from May to October with the Eastham Painters Guild at the Old Schoolhouse Museum in Eastham and by appointment.
