Margaret Dunn Furness

An award-winning artist, Peggy has worked in various media for the past 40 years. She focuses on small on-site paintings, many of which are used in larger studio works. Peggy is also known for her portraits. “A successful portrait will create a life of it’s own.”

Largely self-taught, Peggy has received instruction and inspiration from Rosalie Nadeau and Lois Griffel at the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown. She also studied at Indiana University, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Peggy has been represented by Crossrip Gallery in Harwichport, Aries East in Brewster, Wolfarth Gallery in Provincetown and Eastwind Gallery in Orleans. She has been a featured artist in Cape Cod ART magazine and her artwork has been used for the cover of the 2017 Orleans tourist guide.

“When I paint I let my inspiration from my travels and experiences lead me to something meaningful and new. I want my viewers to respond emotionally, if only subconsciously.”
