Rebecca Gmucs

“I love to make things, use my hands. Color – it’s magic. Paint is a thing, three dimensional. I love the tools, the physicality and the archive of the mind – using all of myself to make something new. I want to communicate via painting the inner awe one feels when looking at something beautiful and meaningful.”

Rebecca Gmucs is a classic wash-a-shore, happy as a clam. The light and landscape of the Cape are an endless inspiration for her paintings. Her landscapes are bold, tending towards the abstract and impressionistic. She also paints graphic, almost printerly, pieces called ”People of the Beach.” She shows at various venues on Cape Cape and is represented by Chapman Gallery in Cotiut, MA and Renaissance Fine Art Gallery in Orangeburg, NY.
