Karen paints in her studio near Cooks Brook Beach during the summer, expressing her talents by painting many scenes that overlook bay and ocean inlets and marshes.
She has spent many summers on the Cape since her childhood, and has worked with many painters over the years in workshops from Provincetown to Truro and Orleans.
She has studied white line woodblock printing in Provincetown, the birthplace of the technique, and now produces these unique Cape Cod woodblock prints of her own.
She has joined many artists painting al fresco on the Cape, including Charles Sovek and artists associated with Gallery 31 in Orleans.
In Connecticut she is a high school art and photography teacher, and has spent her free time painting al fresco, capturing the breathtaking aspects of the hills, rivers, and farms. She also spends an ample amount of time creating portrait and still-life paintings in her studio.
Karen belongs to several local art associations in Connecticut in which she has entered many juried shows, and her work is owned by many private collectors.
