Guild Members Brendan Mruk & Mike Novik Exhibit at Eastham Public Library
Brendan Mruk and Mike Novik have collaborated on Not Just Water, the latest winter art exhibit at the Eastham Public Library for the months of January and February. There will be a reception on Wednesday, January 12, from 4:30- 6pm.
Painting watercolors is Mike Novik‘s medium of choice. He constantly enjoys new techniques he invents, usually by accident. Mike is retired and living on Cape Cod. Plein air painting is his passion. Mike paints almost daily, weather permitting. You might find him painting at an iconic place or a mundane view of a marsh, trees, or simply a street or beach scene.
Brendan Mruk works primarily with watercolor, scratchboard and occasionally egg tempera to document his surroundings and provide unique insight to the viewer that may have been overlooked or obscured. His work has returned to where it began—back to observational-based work and finding the beauty in his surroundings. The chiseled coastlines and weathered structures of the cape consume Brendan and he finds himself painting landscapes and chasing the light. Still-life work has returned as well, especially during the winter months.
